Winthrop Edward Jeanfreau is an entrepreneur, executive leader, and civic educator with more than 30 years of professional experience in industries such as manufacturing, finance, education, and firearms training. Win Jeanfreau attended the University of Utah, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Communication with a minor in Business. Under his guidance, the business achieved the uncommon record of 100% franchisee longevity. Once proven successful and scalable, the company was sold, marking an early milestone in his career.

During this time, he also co-owned Shred-it Oregon, a local branch of a global document destruction company. Competing within a network of more than 100 locations, this branch rose to become both the fastest-growing and most profitable. He led sales efforts for three consecutive years, breaking production records and shaping a culture of firm performance. The business was later sold, creating another successful exit.

Innovation at the Dawn of the Digital Era

In 1999, he founded Aperion Audio, a direct-to-consumer high-fidelity audio company. At a time when online commerce was still emerging, he anticipated the potential of connecting directly with customers. Jeanfreau oversaw engineering, manufacturing, and marketing, positioning the company as a global brand known for award-winning products. By recognizing shifting consumer behavior early, he guided the company into a competitive position. Aperion Audio was eventually sold, closing a significant chapter in its entrepreneurial work.

Expanding Influence in Finance and Education

After his success in consumer products, Win co-founded Vereo Financial Group in Portland, Oregon. The firm later merged with another company, becoming one of the state’s respected independent wealth management groups. His approach to client acquisition was innovative, offering financial literacy seminars through community colleges. This effort not only benefited institutions but also provided reliable financial education to community members. In time, the company’s business book was acquired and merged into a larger wealth advisory firm.

His career then transitioned into higher education and regional economic development. From 2013 to 2018, he held leadership roles at Utah Valley University, including Director of the Small Business Development Center, Director of Executive Education, Director of the Business Resource Center, and Acting Associate Vice-President of Academic Outreach and Economic Development.

At the Business Resource Center, he oversaw a period of notable growth. The incubator facilitated over $20 million in capital infusion for businesses, representing an 11.5-fold increase compared to earlier results. These efforts also led to the creation of 143 jobs in three years, reflecting the real-world impact of his leadership.

Firearms Training and Constitutional Advocacy

In later years, Jeanfreau expanded his work into firearms training and constitutional education. As a Certified Handgun Instructor through Delta Defense and a Constitution Coach with the Patriot Academy, he has trained individuals in both technical and civic knowledge. His teaching emphasizes firearm safety, accuracy, and situational awareness.

His training covers handguns, AR platforms, shotguns, and long rifles. Beyond technical instruction, he integrates education about constitutional rights and responsibilities, helping individuals become not only skilled but also informed citizens. Service has always been an essential part of his life. As a young man, he served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in New England.

Win later dedicated six years as a Boy Scouts of America Scoutmaster, mentoring young men in leadership and outdoor skills. He also served for four years as a Captain in the Civil Air Patrol. His service continues through support of LDS charities, reflecting his dedication to faith-based giving. In addition, he contributed to community leadership by serving on the board of the Women’s Leadership Forum, founded by a university professor.

His career includes a wide range of professional certifications. He is a Certified Business Analyst (CBA) and a Certified Trainer in Franklin Covey’s 4 Disciplines of Execution. His qualifications also include training in Crucial Conversations, Profit Mastery, Business Essentials, Start Smart, and Grow Your Business.

In the past, Jeanfreau held FINRA Series 7 and 66 licenses, as well as life and health insurance licenses in Oregon and Utah.
